In Annie Leibovitz At Work the photographer explains how her pictures are made. Written for young photographers and for readers interested in what photographers do, it is also an account of one of the richest bodies of work in contemporary photography and, through it, of recent history.
Subjects include photojournalism, studio work, photographing dancers and athletes, working with writers and the move from film to digital cameras. First published in 2008 and updated in 2018, the book has been revised again to include recent work. Portraits discussed range from the Rolling Stones, John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Meryl Streep and Joan Didion to Patti Smith, Queen Elizabeth II and Barack Obama. Hardback, 268 pages.
