Soap is a bar of soap enlarged to 121 cm, with one corner missing as if someone had taken a bite out of it. It was designed in 2014 by TOILETPAPER, the studio of Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari, as part of their collection for Gufram, and presented as a universal detergent for the whole house. The joke lies in the scale, and in the question of whose mouth could manage such a bite.
Gufram lists Soap as a low table; at 31 cm high it can just as well be used as a pouf. It is made of soft polyurethane and finished by hand in Guflac® Ultra, here in a coral red with an embossed label on top, and it is suitable for outdoor use. Soap is a limited edition of 300 pieces. As the finish is applied by hand, each piece varies slightly.
More TOILETPAPER for Gufram: the tombstone stool The End, also in white and black marble, and the miniature Guframini GOD.
